This is important for foreign buyers to know as most of our foreign shipping charges are estimates.  We do not falsify information on the Customs Form, such as a price other than what the actual purchase price is, so please do not request us to do so. We ship several times a week and your prompt payment will hasten the turn-around time.
A nice looking little antique GUERLAIN (?) perfume bottle.  The insect appears to be a house-fly or a bee and I believe it is a Trade Mark design that the Guerlain company in Paris, used to decorate some of their antique bottles.  What is unusually GOOD about
this particular bottle is that the purple color really accentuates the PICTURE of the embossed FLY on it!
With a clear glass bottle, you hold it up to the light to try to get a better idea of what is embossed on it, and the embossing reflects what ever patterns and colors are in the background.   Yet
with this deep purple color, you are looking, not through the embossing but AT the embossing which looks like an actual fly resting on the bottle
!  More about this purple color ...   .
The beautiful purple amethyst color of this bottle is the result of being made with manganese in the glass, a mineral that was pulverized and added to vats of liquid glass that acted as a decolorizing agent to turn the natural aqua-tinted glass into a pure crystal clear colorless glass.  Exposure to ultraviolet rays of the sun or other sources of UV rays, triggers a chemical reaction and the manganese oxidizes and turns a wonderful amethyst color.  This bottle has been exposed to a high heat/light source to enrich the purple color that would naturally occur if exposed to sun light for a prolonged period of time.   With few exceptions, only glass made before 1914 will turn purple.  Not only does this deep purple/amethyst color make this a great looking bottle, but it also authenticates it as being truly antique
    .
All of this makes for a super nice looking antique bottle
